Two Men Face Charges Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage taken after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.
A toddler was among those injured in the event. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
