The Perfect Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Astrological Sign
The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement across the fandom. Starting with the gradual reveal of newcomers ahead of the title's launch, to players forming strong opinions on the entire roster of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for fans to look forward to.
With numerous of the Mega Evolutions showcasing distinctive designs that highlight their personalities, one idea came to mind: How can connect this with astrology? The following is based on a blend of intuition, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.
The Ram – Super Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for Aries, as both are the Super Form and astrological sign that evoke the most fear. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and impulsive. That's why Aries far more akin to Super Camerupt, which only erupts when provoked. Remain on the good side of both and benefit from a powerful ally; should you offend them, be ready to get burned.
The Bull – Super Heracross
Much like a loyal Taurus, the steadfast Heracross, whether in its regular and Super Form, has aided numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the Pokémon and a Taurus are still battle-oriented, and – whether it's their companion or a firm belief – will stand up for their side unwaveringly. What about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unabashed love of snacks. Many past official descriptions note their craving for tasty sap and how it uses its appendage to collect it all, which is pure Taurus energy.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Observe this total royalty. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of every party, providing an constant stream of gossip to anyone who wants to listen. Much like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's incredibly simple to envision Super Medicham mesmerizing an entire Wild Zone with their tales. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also mentions its capacity to foresee an opponent's future actions, which seems quite like a people-smart Twins.
Cancer – Super Manectric
The Crab is commonly considered as the most sensitive sign of the zodiac, a passionate symbol famous for frequently getting wrapped up in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “huge amount of electricity, but it's too much for this Pokémon to completely manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Crab emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also recognized for its capability to make a thundercloud over its very head – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is likely to do, it’s spoil their good time.
Leo – Super Starmie
Well, did you think I was going to pick the lion Pokémon for the lion of the stars? Besides the reality that it would be far too obvious, Leo is clearly Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just became an internet sensation for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your taste). Players couldn’t look away from the purple sea star, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Lion offers to the table. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting radio waves from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Leo to be putting on a show, albeit for extraterrestrials.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Virgo is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual digestive issues. The sign known for being endearingly judgmental is strongly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s whole lineage, from a always shocked face like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s similar to the symbol a Virgo posts to the group chat when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than making a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Look at this sweet, empathetic being, who employs the sensors on its auditory organs to detect how others are emotionally by their pulse. Always empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to maintain the harmony, there are numerous Scales who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to worry even more about others.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
This Ghost-type is a creature with a surprisingly sad origin: Abandoned as a toy, it gained sentient through sheer resentment and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpion loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the ideal match with Mega Banette.
Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Archers are always putting on a show. As a Sagittarius myself, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly small jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to display its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer counterpart I can think of.
Capricorn – Mega Absol
Did you know that a Super Absol has the ability to predict calamities in advance? That gives the identical energy as a Capricorn, who tends to always believe they’re right. Interestingly, much like a prophetic Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute initial Mega Evolution that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to join the ground floor of the Mega trend.
Aquarius – Mega Chandelure
Detached air sign Water Bearer is arguably the non-fire sign that is closest to a flame symbol – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about the Archer and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s dual Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Super Form's overall intimidating aura is also extremely Aquarius. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “draws in hatred and transforms it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
