The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.

The 27-year-old captured four titles – the most on tour – which included successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Season of Dominance

Throughout the year, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the whole season as the top-ranked player, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Record-Breaking Statistics

Sabalenka finished the season with a 63-12 match record, and collected a historic £11m in prize money.

She garnered nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a greater prominence".

Additional WTA Award Honorees

• Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, twenty-eight, was voted after taking a extended hiatus following the birth of her daughter and returning to the sport earlier this season.
• Fresh Face of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko received the award after starting the season positioned outside the world's top 300 and soaring to world number 18.
• Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were voted after capturing their second career Grand Slam title as a pair.
• Biggest Leap of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after making five finals.

Last week, Carlos Alcaraz secured three awards in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as the fan favorite for a third time.
