FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in La Liga over two years since relocating so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators can be present as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match facing Eintracht next month in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
