Loyal followers of Ariana Grande are calling for that a individual who leaped a barrier and touched the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or deported from Singapore.

A viral video reveals the Australian man shoving aside media personnel and charging at Grande while the actors made its way down a yellow carpet flanked by supporters.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the event by event staff.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being arrested", though legal records showed that he was scheduled to attend court on the following morning. It is not clear if he was formally accused.

History of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed contains videos of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in recently and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last winter.

"There needs to be action applied against him as this is evidently a punishable act," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Followers Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Well-being

Several followers criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her May 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote one more comment on Instagram.

Some attendees also questioned security officers at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while some requested social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande looked surprised when she was grabbed by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

Many of attendees had gathered in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore mall, including some who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The film, to be premiered on November 21, is the second of a dual interpretation of the acclaimed Broadway and West End musical Wicked, which centers on the unexpected friendship between two contrasting characters.

The production itself is a adaptation of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a light pink sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.

They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of last year in the UK, and scored ten award recognitions, winning two for excellent wardrobe and artistic direction.
