British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”
