In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Adventure Disclosed

According to the authorized announcement, "A strange encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the obscurity." The plot presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine group.

The mission concentrates on "bizarre trials and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Transformations

The preview features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser ends with a striking moment showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Bonus Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an exclusive katana alongside multiple items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Exclusive implements
• Survey Corps steed

Latest Free Story Addition

This update also adds the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime series. The series formerly featured a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
